Manic Monday
It was pretty tough at work today. We ended up going back to the apartment near the Eiffel Tower where we'd installed a lot of furniture last week. As it turns out, our client had only sold certain items to the customer and took the rest of them to see if the customer liked the way they looked in the apartment. Surprise surprise, the customer was really only after the furniture that they'd bought, so we ended up having to lift most of the items back out of the apartment and take them back to the gallery, including the heavy slate table that we smuggled up in the lift last time. Unfortunately there'd been a couple of developments since we were last there, including one of the workmen breaking the lift, the residents threatening to sue the designer and a subsequent complete ban on use of the lift. All of which meant that we had to carry everything down 6 floors.
Doing this kind of thing is mentally challenging as well as physically! Knowing that you only just struggled to get the furniture into the apartment, only to have to carry it back out in a couple days isn't the greatest motivator!
